Terminals at Naples Airport
The airport terminal is a large building where passengers transfer through ground transportation that allows passengers to board and disembark from an aircraft. There are two large terminals at the Naples International Airport.
Within the terminal, Passengers purchase tickets, transfer their luggage, go through security checks, and wait to board their flights here at the airport. These buildings provide access to airplanes, called concourses. However, the terms “terminal” and “concourse” are sometimes used interchangeably, depending on the configuration of the airport.
Terminal 1
- The main terminal at the Naples Airport handles the majority of domestic ad international flights. There are two sections, A and B.
- Section A serves for the Schengen Area flights, which include domestic flights within Italy and other European destinations. It's in the landside ground level that features a check-in and arrivals area and the upper level has the main departure area with a lot of shops
- Section B handles the non-Schengen Area flights, including international flights to destinations outside the Schengen Area. This is in the airside ground level. It doesn't feature jet bridges, instead, buses are used.
- Terminal 1 offers various amenities which include check-in counters, security checkpoints, customs and immigration facilities, departure lounges, shops, restaurants, and other passenger services.
Terminal 2
- This is used for a limited number of flights, primarily for low-cost carriers and charter airlines as its comparatively smaller than Terminal 1.
- Terminal 2 provides passengers with basic amenities like check-in counters, security checkpoints, departure lounges, and a small selection of shops and dining options.
- Terminal 2 is located in a separate building totally different from Terminal 1.
Apron and Runway
- The runway and apron at Naples Airport are vital components of the airport infrastructure. They enable the arrival and departure of aircraft and support various ground operations, such as aircraft parking, refueling, and maintenance.
- The airport has a single runway in the orientation as 06/24 – 2,628 m × 45 m (8,622 ft × 148 ft; resistance: PCN90/F/B/W/T – assistance: PAPI, ILS. the bituminous conglomerates and concrete with one taxiway. The runway is equipped with lighting and navigation aids to facilitate safe aircraft operations during the day and night.
- The apron is the area where aircraft are parked, loaded, and unloaded at the airport. It is located adjacent to the passenger terminal buildings in the Naples Airport. It is designed to accommodate a range of aircraft types and sizes.
